Bangabandhu Jamuna Multipurpose Bridge

The longest bridge in Bangladesh and South Asia and the 11th longest in the world. The bridge, which connects the country directly with North Bengal, was inaugurated in 1997. It is 4.8 km long and 18.5 m wide. The distance of the bridge from Dhaka to Tangail-Sirajganj road is 119 km. As there are two railway stations on both sides of the bridge, it is easy to enjoy the beauty of Jamuna by taking a local train. You can also enjoy the beauty of this bridge Jamuna by car. Walking on Bangabandhu Bridge is not allowed. A certain amount of toll has to be paid for the vehicle.

To protect the city of Sirajganj from the erosion of the Jamuna, a three kilometer long city defense dam was built here in 1997. Rabindra Kacharibari

In Shahjadpur of the district there is a Kacharibari associated with the memory of the poet Rabindranath Tagore. Here was the ancestral zamindari of Rabindranath Tagore. The poets grandfather Prince Dwarkanath Tagore bought a factory of indigo planters at auction. At the age of twenty-nine, Rabindranath Tagore first came to Shahjadpur in 1890 to look after the zamindari. From then until 1897, the work of zamindari came and went and stayed here. During his stay here he wrote several important literary works. As a result of the division of the zamindari of the Tagore family, the zamindari of Shahjadpur passed to the partners for Rabindranath. So in 1897 he left Shahjadpur. There is still an old two-story building for zamindari rent collection, which is currently being used as a museum. Every year on the 25th of Baishakh, the birthday of the poet, three days of various ceremonies are organized nationally. The distance from the district town to Rabindra Kacharibari is about 50 kilometers. Get off the bus at Shahjadpur station, one kilometer away from Kacharibari.

Shahjadpur Mosque

This mosque is located on the banks of Hurasagar river at Dargapara at the end of Shahjadpur upazila of the district. It is known that the mosque was built in the fifteenth century by Makhdoom Shah, a Sufi saint and ruler of the region. This square mosque has fifteen domes. It has five domes in three rows. The most spectacular feature of this mosque is the two-storied pulpit with seven steps of dome.
