বেসরকারি উদ্যোগে নারায়ণগঞ্জ জেলার রূপগঞ্জে কাঞ্চন নামক এলাকায় ২৫ বিঘা জমির ওপর গড়ে উঠেছে পনড গার্ডেন। এটি ঢাকা থেকে ২০ কিলোমিটার দূরে কাঁচপুর ব্রিজের ৭ কিলোমিটার উত্তরে কাঞ্চন পৌরসভায় অবস্থিত একটি নয়ানাভিরাম পরিবেশবান্ধব পার্ক। পার্কটির ঠিক মাঝে বিশাল আকারের শানবাঁধানো জলাধার থাকায় এর নামকরণ হয়েছে পনড গার্ডেন।
পুকুরের পাশে ফুলের বাগানে শোভা পাচ্ছে দেশি–বিদেশী বিচিত্র ফুলের গাছ। মেছেন্দা, রঙ্গন, বকুল, গোলাপ, গেন্দা, সূর্যমুখী, রজনীগন্ধা, জবা, বেলী, নয়নতারা, ডায়ান্থাস, সালভিয়া ও বিচিত্র ফুলের সমাহার। গাছে গাছে পাখির কলরব ও বাতাসে নারিকেল গাছের পাতার ছন্দময় আওয়াজ আপনার ভাল লাগবে। মেরিগোর উন্ড টয়ট্রেন, ছোট পাহাড় ও বিশাল খেলার মাঠ প্রতিটি মুহুর্তকে করে তুলবে আনন্দের।
পার্কের ডাকবাংলোর পাকা আঙিনায় ১০০ জন শিশুর অবাধ খেলা ও ছুটাছুটির ব্যবস্থা আছে। ক্লান্তি ও শ্রান্তি দূর করার জন্য আছে বিশালাকার ত্রিতল ডাকবাংলো, বিশ্রাম গ্রহণ, বসা ও খাওয়ার সুব্যবস্থা। ফাস্টফুডের ব্যবস্থা এমনকি অর্ডার দিলেই ইচ্ছা মাফিক সুস্বাদু খাদ্যের ব্যবস্থা। দর্শনার্থীদের জন্য রয়েছে পর্যাপ্ত পরিস্কার টয়লেট ও গভীর নলকুপের ঠান্ডা পানি। বিশাল পুকুরের চারিদিকে ও ভাসমান সেতু থেকে পুকুরের মধ্যস্থল পরযন্ত। এখানে একটি মনোরম ফোয়ারার ঝরনা রয়েছে যা আপনার মনকে আনন্দে মাতিয়ে রাখবে। মহিলা ও শিশুদের জন্য রয়েছে আলাদা বিশ্রামগৃহ, টয়লেট ও শীতাতপ নিয়ন্ত্রিত ড্রেসিংরুম।
এখানকার প্রশস্ত হলরুমে রক্ষিত বিশ্ব মনীষীদের বৃহদাকার ছবিও তাদের জীবনের চৌকস ঘটনাবলি পড়ে শিক্ষার্থী ও দর্শনার্থীরা অনেক অজানা তথ্য জানতে পারবেন। পাক-ভারত–বাংলা উপমহাদেশের স্বাধীনতা সংগ্রামে বাঙালিদের শ্রেষ্ঠতম অবদানের ইতিহাস। পিকনিক আমোদীরা চাহিবামাত্র পার্কের কর্মচারীরা মিউজিক্যাল চেয়ার, ব্যাডমিন্টন, ভলিবল, রশি টানাটানি, হাঁড়িভাঙা ইত্যাদি খেলার তাৎক্ষণিক ব্যবস্থা করে দিতে পারেন।
প্রায় ১০০ থেকে ৫০০ লোকের জন্য পিকনিকের ব্যবস্থা আছে এই পার্কে। ব্যাংক, বীমা ও অন্যান্য প্রতিষ্ঠানের বাৎসরিক সভা সেমিনার আয়োজনের ব্যবস্থাও আছে এখানে। পনড গার্ডেনে ভ্রমণে আপনি একই সঙ্গে পার্কটির কাছে শীতলক্ষ্যা নদীর ওপর নির্মিত কাঞ্চন সেতুটি দেখে আসতে পারেন। সেতুর নিচ দিয়ে কলকল শব্দে বয়ে যাচ্ছে নদীর ধারা। সম্প্রতি পনড গার্ডেনে কৃত্রিম বৃষ্টির আয়োজন করা হয়েছে যা পনড গার্ডেনকে দিয়েছে নতুন মাত্রা।

Pond Garden has been set up on 25 bighas of land in Kanchan area of Rupganj in Narayanganj district on private initiative. It is a beautiful eco-friendly park located in Kanchan Municipality, 8 km north of Kanchpur Bridge, 20 km from Dhaka. The pond is named Pond Garden because of the huge sandstone reservoir right in the middle of the park.
In the flower garden next to the pond, various local and foreign flower trees are being decorated. Mechenda, Rangana, Bakul, Rose, Genda, Suryamukhi, Rajnigandha, Jaba, Belly, Nayantara, Dianthus, Salvia and a combination of various flowers. You will love the chirping of birds in the trees and the rhythmic sound of coconut leaves in the air. Marigos Und Toytrain, small hills and huge playground will make every moment a joy.
In the paved courtyard of the parks post bungalow, there are free play and leisure activities for 100 children. To relieve fatigue and tiredness, there is a huge three-storied post bungalow, facilities for resting, sitting and eating. Fast food arrangements, even if you order, delicious food as you wish. There are adequate clean toilets for visitors and cold water from deep tube wells. Around the huge pond and from the floating bridge to the middle of the pond. There is a beautiful fountain here that will keep your mind happy. There are separate restrooms, toilets and air-conditioned dressing rooms for women and children.
Students and visitors will be able to know a lot of unknown information by reading the large pictures of world sages kept in the spacious halls here and also the clever events of their lives. On a trip to Pond Garden you can also see the Kanchan Bridge built over the Shitalakshya River near the park. The river is flowing with murmur under the bridge. Recently artificial rain has been arranged in Pond Garden which has given a new dimension to Pond Garden.
