মুন্সীগঞ্জের উত্তরে ঢাকা ও নারায়ণগঞ্জ, পূর্বে কুমিল্লা এবং চাঁদপুর, দক্ষিণে মাদারীপুর ও শরিয়তপুর ও পশ্চিমে ঢাকা এবং ফরিদপুর জেলা। পদ্মা, মেঘনা, ধলেশ্বরী, ঈছামতি ও শীতলক্ষ্যা এ জেলার প্রধান নদী। প্রায় ৯৫৫ বর্গকিলোমিটার আয়তনের এ জেলার উপজেলাগুলো হচ্ছে- মুন্সীগঞ্জ সদর, টঙ্গীবাড়ি, শ্রীনগর, লৌহজং, গজারিয়া এবং সিরাজদিখান। মুন্সীগঞ্জের বেশিরভাগ বেড়ানোর জায়গাই হচ্ছে প্রত্নতাত্তিক স্থাপনা কেন্দ্রিক।

Munshiganj is bounded on the north by Dhaka and Narayanganj, on the east by Comilla and Chandpur, on the south by Madaripur and Shariatpur, and on the west by Dhaka and Faridpur districts. Padma, Meghna, Dhaleshwari, Ishmati and Shitalakshya are the main rivers of the district. The upazilas of the district with an area of about 955 sq km are Munshiganj Sadar, Tongibari, Srinagar, Louhjong, Gazaria and Sirajdikhan. Most of the places to visit in Munshiganj are archeological sites.
