At the very end of Amtali upazila of the district there is a char of about 13 sq km in Barabagi union. In this char, fishermen mainly make dry goods. On the west side of the char are the estuaries of Payra and Bishkhali rivers. Bishkhalis hilsa is very tasty.
Taltoli Buddhist Academy
There is a Buddhist academy in Rakhine inhabited Taltali of the district. The Buddhist temple here has a huge Buddhist statue. Besides, there are several Rakhine settlements in Amtali of the district. Rakhine women living here work in weaving cloth and various handicrafts.
