The fifth Bangladesh-China Friendship Bridge is about four kilometers west of Jhalokati city. Built in the shape of the English letter S above the Gabkhan Channel, the bridge is quite high. The beauty of Pabkhan Channel can be enjoyed by standing on this bridge. Pabkhan Bridge can be easily reached from the city by rickshaw and by bus from the college junction.
The famous Dhansinri river of Jibanananda Das is now almost dead. The river is located in Rajapur upazila of Jhalokati district. Now only boats ply this river. However, even though the river is dead, its beauty has not diminished in any part. Poet Jibananda Dass mamabari is in the village of Charghatarakanda on the banks of the Dhansinri.
The zamindar house is located in the village of Kirtipasha, about five kilometers north-west of the district town. The village was later named after Kirti Narayan, the zamindar of the house. Here are the ruins of an ancient zamindar house, a Shiva temple and a Shiva idol. The place can be reached by tempo or rickshaw from the district town.
Saturia Zamindarbari
There is a zamindar house in Saturia village of Rajapur upazila of the district which is about three hundred years old. The house has a few ponds over an area of about one hundred acres, three buildings built in Mughal architecture and the main arch of the house still survives. This is Sher-e-Bangla Ake Fazlul Huqs various houses. And this is where he was born. He spent most of his childhood here. The house is located just before the Bekutia ferry terminal on the Rajapur-Pirojpur highway. Pirojpur-bound bus can be reached from the district headquarters.
Nesharbad Darbar Sharif
Next to the city of Jhalokati is the tomb of Hazrat Maulana Azizur Rahman-Quaid Sahib, a devout man of the region. Rickshaw fare from the city is 20-25 rupees.
Galua Pucca Mosque
The mosque is located one kilometer east of Galua Bazar in Rajapur upazila of the district. It is known from an abandoned inscription next to the mosque that it was built in Bengal in 1122 by a man named Mahmudjan Akon (Mamuji). After a long period of abandonment, the mosque was renovated at the initiative of the then local Pir Mahtabuddin. It is said that when the Dhaka mosque was being renovated in the dense forest, big poisonous snakes came out of it. The lord then ordered to keep the mosque open on either side. Later one by one several snakes came out and went out. Later the mosque was built for prayers. Long after this, the mosque was restored in 2004 at the initiative of the Department of Archeology at the initiative of Abdul Quddus Khan, a local veteran teacher. It is now a preserved antiquity.
