বাংলাদেশের সর্ব উত্তরের জেলা পঞ্চগড়। এ জেলার প্রাচীন প্রায় ১৫ টি গড়ের সন্ধান পাওয়া যায়। এ গুলোর মধ্যে উল্লেখযোগ্য পাঁচটি (ভিতর গড়, হাসেনগড়, মীরগড়, রাজনগড় ও দেবেনগড়) গড়ের নামানুসারে এ জেলার নাম পঞ্চগড়। পঞ্চগড়ের তিন দিকই ভারতীয় সীমান্ত বেষ্টিত। উত্তরে ভারতের দার্জিলিং, উত্তর – পূর্বে জলপাই গুঁড়ি ও কোচবিহার জেলা, পশ্চিমে পশ্চিম দিনাজপুর ও পূর্ণিয়া জেলা অবস্থিত। জেলার পূর্ব দিকের দক্ষিণাংশ বাংলাদেশের নীলফামারী জেলা এবং দক্ষিণে দিনাজপুর ও ঠাকুরগাঁ ও জেলা অবস্থিতঁ। উপজেলাগুলো হল- পঞ্চগড় সদর, বোদা, দেবীগঞ্জ, আটোয়ারী ও তেঁতুলিয়া। করতোয়া আত্রাই, তিস্তা, মহানন্দা, টঙ্গন, ডাহুক, পাথরাজ, ভুল্লী, তালমা, নাগর, চাওয়াই, তিরনাই, চিলকা প্রভৃতি জেলার উল্লেখযোগ্য নদি। এ জেলায় রয়েছে বেড়ানোর জন্য অনেক মনোরম জায়গা।

Panchagarh is the northernmost district of Bangladesh. About 15 ancient averages of this district have been found. Panchagarh is named after five of them (Vitar Garh, Hasengarh, Mirgarh, Rajnagar and Debengarh). Panchagarh is bordered on three sides by the Indian border. Darjeeling in India to the north, Jalpai Gundi and Kochbihar districts to the northeast, Dinajpur and Purnia districts to the west. To the east of the district lies Nilphamari district of Bangladesh and to the south are Dinajpur and Thakurgaon districts. The upazilas are Panchagarh Sadar, Boda, Debiganj, Atwari and Tentulia. Notable rivers of Karatoya Atrai, Teesta, Mahananda, Tongan, Dahuk, Pathraj, Bhulli, Talma, Nagar, Chawai, Tirnai, Chilka etc. districts. There are many beautiful places to visit in this district.
