The picturesque zamindar house is in Saturia of the district. The zamindars of Baliati built various important structures including this house for about two hundred years from the first half of the eighteenth century to the first part of the twentieth century. The houses built here at different times were known as Purbabari, Paschimbari, Uttarbari, Madhyabari and Golabari. The earliest building was completely destroyed, but the other four still survive. Next to the Baliati zamindars house is the local Ramakrishna Mission. In 1910, Shri Radhikacharan Chowdhury Ramakrishna Mission Debashram was established in Baliati. The famous Gouranga Math is in front of the Ramakrishna Mission. The local zamindar Manmohan Roy Chowdhury established it in 1925 in memory of his wife Indubala and daughter Sunitibala. Ishwar Chandra High School is near Baliati Zamindarbari. The school is named after zamindar Ishwar Chandra Roy. Harendra Kumar Roychowdhury, son of Ishwar Chandra, established the school in 1915-16. Harendra Kumar spent about fifty thousand rupees at that time to construct the concrete building of the school.
Hem Shankar Roychowdhury and Jayashankar Roychowdhury, two brothers of this ancient zamindar house in Shibalaya upazila of Manikganj district, used to manage the zamindari from this beautiful house. At present the house is on the verge of destruction. The 55 houses of the house have somehow survived here. There is a Navaratna temple in the premises of Zamindarbari. The condition of the temple is also dilapidated.
Matta Math is located in Matta village, about three kilometers east of the district headquarters. It is believed that Ramakrishna Sen and Prasanna Kumar Sen, influential zamindars of the time, established the monastery.
Sri Anandamoyee Kalibari, located in Manikganj, was built in 1895-96. Every year a folk fair is held here on the occasion of Rath. Besides, regular Dharmasabha, Namkirtan, Jatrapala and other ceremonies are held.
Manikganjs Hazarigur has a long history. The taste of this date molasses of Sadarang invented by Minhaj Uddin Hazari of Jhitka village of Harirampur upazila of the district is incomparable. Minhaj Uddin Hazaris family and several artisans of the village have kept the tradition of Hazari molasses.
Ashram of Narayan Sadhu
Another antiquity of the village is the ashram of Narayan Sadhu. A sadhu named Narayan brought a large piece of stone from Orissa and established it here. The ashram was established in 1346.
