ঢাকা হতে সড়কপথে ২১০ কিলোমিটার দূরে খুলনা বিভাগের ঝিনাইদহ জেলা। প্রায় ১৯৪৯ বর্গকিলোমিটার আয়তনের এ জেলার উত্তরে কুষ্টিয়া জেলা, দক্ষিণে যশোর ও ভারতের পশ্চিমবঙ্গ, পূর্বে রাজবাড়ী ও মাগুরা জেলা এবং পশ্চিমে চূয়াডাংগা ও ভারতের পশ্চিমবঙ্গ। গড়াই, কুমার, ভৈরব, চিত্রা, কপোতাক্ষ, কালীগঙ্গা, ইছামতি, নবগঙ্গা প্রভৃতি জেলার উল্লেখযোগ্য নদ – নদী। উপজেলাগুলো হল- ঝিনাইদহ সদর, শৈলকুপা, কালীগঞ্জ, হরিণাকুন্ডু, কোটচাঁপুর ও মহেশপুর।

Jhenaidah district of Khulna division is 210 km away from Dhaka by road. It covers an area of about 1949 sq km and is bounded on the north by Kushtia district, on the south by Jessore and West Bengal of India, on the east by Rajbari and Magura districts and on the west by Chuadanga and West Bengal of India. Notable rivers of the district are Gorai, Kumar, Bhairab, Chitra, Kapotaksh, Kaliganga, Ichhamati, Nabaganga etc. The upazilas are Jhenaidah Sadar, Shailkupa, Kaliganj, Harinakundu, Kotchampur and Maheshpur.
